7Artisans' ultra-budget manual-focus 37.5mm equiv prime for APS-C mirrorless — f/1.8 at pocket-money prices.
The 7Artisans 25mm f/1.8 is a manual-focus normal prime for APS-C mirrorless cameras, providing approximately 37.5mm equivalent on Fujifilm X-mount. It is one of the cheapest interchangeable lenses available new, targeting beginners and enthusiasts who want to experiment with manual focus.
Optically basic but functional — sharp in the centre from f/4 with soft corners and vignetting wide open at f/1.8. The fast aperture provides decent subject separation for the price. All-metal construction with a smooth focus ring. No electronic contacts or coatings of note.
Fujifilm X mount (also available for Sony E, MFT, Canon EF-M). No electronic contacts — manual everything, no EXIF data. 46mm filter thread. Weighs approximately 150g — very compact. Minimum focus distance 18cm — excellent for close-ups. Metal construction.
Available used extremely cheaply — often under £30. The lack of electronics means no AF, no EXIF, and no aperture control from the camera body. A fun toy lens for learning manual focus. The Fuji XF 27mm f/2.8 is a vastly better lens for modest extra cost.
