Blackmagic's cinema camera with Super 35 6K sensor and Canon EF mount — designed for professional filmmaking.
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 launched in 2022 as an update to the original BMPCC 6K, featuring a Super 35mm sized 6K sensor with Canon EF lens mount. It brings cinema-quality image capture to an accessible price point for independent filmmakers.
The 6144x3456 Super 35 sensor records 6K Blackmagic RAW and ProRes at up to 60fps. 13 stops of dynamic range in film mode. Dual native ISO at 400 and 3200. The larger sensor compared to Micro Four Thirds version provides shallower depth of field and better low-light performance.
Canon EF mount — access to the vast Canon EF lens ecosystem. 5-inch tilting touchscreen HDR display. CFast 2.0 and SD UHS-II card recording. Mini XLR audio input with phantom power. USB-C expansion port. HDMI output. 899g body only.
Available used at mid-range prices. The EF mount means no native autofocus for most cinema applications — manual focus is standard. Check sensor for dead pixels. DaVinci Resolve Studio included with purchase. The BMPCC 6K Pro added built-in ND filters and brighter screen.
