The Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye was released approximately 1987 as a 180-degree diagonal fisheye prime for Canon EF-mount full-frame. Seven elements in 7 groups. Seven aperture blades. No front filter thread — rear gelatin filter slot. At approximately 330g. 0.20m MFD.

The 15mm f/2.8 is a diagonal fisheye: the 180° diagonal field of view fills the full 35mm/full-frame image area (versus a circular fisheye which produces a circular image within the rectangular frame). The no-filter-thread design is intentional — the bulging convex front element prevents standard screw-in filters; a rear gelatin slot is provided. The 0.20m MFD enables extreme proximity fisheye compositions.
