Canon's full-frame diagonal fisheye — 180° coverage at f/2.8 for creative EF-mount photography.
The Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye launched in 1987 as Canon's diagonal fisheye for full-frame EF mount, providing 180 degrees of corner-to-corner coverage with characteristic barrel distortion. It served creative photographers for decades.
Optically good for a fisheye — sharp in the centre with the intentional extreme distortion. The f/2.8 aperture is useful for low-light and astrophotography applications. Fisheye effects work well for creative, sports, and immersive content.
Canon EF mount with 72mm rear gel filter holder — no front filter thread due to curved front element. Approximately 330g — compact. Full-frame coverage. Built-in petal hood. Minimum focus distance 20cm.
Available used at mid-range prices. The EF 8-15mm f/4L USM Fisheye zoom replaced it — offering more versatility. The f/2.8 aperture is faster than the f/4 zoom replacement. For creative and astrophotography fisheye use on Canon EF.
