Canon's ultra-wide zoom for EF-M — 18-35mm equiv with IS in compact design for M-mount system.
The Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM launched in 2013 as the ultra-wide zoom for Canon's EF-M mirrorless system, covering 18-35mm equivalent with IS stabilisation. It provided ultra-wide coverage in a compact retractable design.
Optically good for the size — sharp in the centre with IS providing stabilisation unusual for ultra-wides. STM motor for smooth video AF. The 18-35mm equivalent provides useful ultra-wide to moderate wide coverage. Retractable design.
Canon EF-M mount with 55mm filter thread. Approximately 220g — very compact. IS stabilisation. Retractable design collapses for transport. APS-C coverage. Minimum focus distance 15cm at 11mm.
Available used at budget prices. EF-M mount is discontinued — Canon moved to RF. The ultra-wide with IS was unique for EF-M. For existing Canon M50/M6 II users wanting ultra-wide coverage. Check retraction mechanism.
