Canon's EF-M superzoom — 29-240mm equiv with IS and STM for the discontinued M-mount system.
The Canon EF-M 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM launched in 2016 as the most versatile lens for Canon's EF-M mirrorless system, covering 29-240mm equivalent. It provided superzoom range with IS stabilisation in a compact package for M-series cameras.
Optically adequate for a superzoom — sharp in the centre at mid-focal lengths but softer at extremes. IS provides essential stabilisation at the long end. STM motor for smooth, quiet AF during video. The 29-240mm equivalent range eliminates the need for lens changes.
Canon EF-M mount with 55mm filter thread. Approximately 300g — lightweight for the range. APS-C coverage. IS stabilisation. Minimum focus distance 25cm at 18mm. No weather sealing. Plastic construction.
Available used at budget prices. EF-M mount is discontinued. The most versatile single lens for Canon M50/M6 II owners. The IS and STM motor work well for video. Check for smooth zoom action. Only useful with existing EF-M camera bodies.
