Canon's fastest-focusing 18-135mm with Nano USM motor, the definitive APS-C superzoom.
The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM was introduced in 2016 as the ultimate version of Canon's popular APS-C superzoom range. The Nano USM autofocus motor combines the speed of ring USM with the smoothness of STM, making this version excellent for both stills and video. It was bundled with the EOS 80D.
Optical quality is similar to the STM version with good centre sharpness across the range. The Nano USM motor is the standout feature — extremely fast for stills autofocus and near-silent for video. IS provides approximately 4 stops of stabilisation. An optional Power Zoom Adapter PZ-E1 adds motorised zoom for video.
Canon EF-S mount only, 67mm filter thread. This is the best EF-S 18-135mm and the one to buy if choosing between the three versions. The Power Zoom Adapter adds a unique video zoom capability that no other Canon lens offers in this class.
Moderate value used. Check the Nano USM motor for responsiveness and silent operation. If the optional PZ-E1 adapter is included that adds significant value. The best all-in-one zoom Canon made for the EF-S mount.
