World's smallest DSLR with non-IS zoom, cheapest 100D kit compromising stabilisation at budget pricing.
The Canon EOS 100D with 18-55mm III is the non-IS variant of the world's smallest DSLR kit, using the basic non-stabilised zoom. The 100D body remains the most compact Canon DSLR, but the non-IS lens compromises handheld capability.
The 18MP sensor and touchscreen remain excellent, but the 18-55mm III without IS limits handheld shooting in low light. The Canon EF mount access and compact body dimensions remain the same as the IS STM variant.
Build quality is identical to the IS STM kit — the world's smallest DSLR dimensions. The non-IS zoom reduces cost but removes the handheld stabilisation that makes the IS STM version significantly more capable.
The 100D with non-IS zoom offers the compact DSLR experience at the lowest possible cost. The missing IS is a meaningful compromise — the IS STM version is significantly more capable for everyday shooting.
