The Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II was released in September 2004 as the second generation of Canon's full-frame professional DSLR flagship, upgrading the 1Ds with a 16.7MP full-frame CMOS sensor and improved AF. Designed for studio, landscape, and commercial photography requiring maximum resolution. Canon EF mount.

The 1Ds Mark II doubled the 1Ds's resolution from 11.1MP to 16.7MP while retaining the professional body construction and dual-CF slot design. The 45-point AF system with 9 cross-type sensors provided more precise focus than the original 1Ds. Succeeded by the 1Ds Mark III (21.1MP, 2007).
On the used market the Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II is a vintage professional full-frame DSLR. Condition checks: shutter actuation count (rated 200,000), dual CF slot condition, weather sealing, battery health (BP-511A). Canon EF mount.
