Canon's second-generation affordable full-frame DSLR with Dual Pixel AF and flip screen.
The Canon EOS 6D Mark II was launched in 2017 as an update to the popular 6D. With a 26.2MP sensor, Dual Pixel AF in live view, and a fully articulating touchscreen, it addressed the original's biggest limitations while maintaining the affordable full-frame positioning.
Key features include the 26.2MP sensor, 45-point all-cross-type AF system in the viewfinder, Dual Pixel AF for live view and video, a fully articulating touchscreen, and built-in GPS and Wi-Fi. Burst rate is 6.5fps. 1080p video is available but with no 4K. Battery life is good at around 1200 shots.
The 6D II is praised for the vastly improved AF over the 6D, the versatile flip screen, and the excellent Dual Pixel AF in live view. It is criticised for the 26MP sensor's dynamic range which is noticeably behind Nikon and Sony competitors, and the lack of 4K video in 2017.
Good value used. Check shutter count, the flip screen hinge, and Dual Pixel AF in live view. Dynamic range at low ISO is the main weakness. For landscape work the Nikon D750 or D780 offer better dynamic range; for general and portrait work the 6D II is excellent value.
