Canon's first Rebel with a touchscreen — 18MP APS-C with Hybrid CMOS AF for live view and video.
The Canon EOS 700D (Rebel T5i) was a 2013 update to the 650D, refining the touchscreen interface and retaining the 18MP APS-C sensor with Hybrid CMOS AF for improved live view focusing. It was Canon's mainstream beginner DSLR.
Image quality matches the 650D — clean to ISO 3200. The 9-point all-cross-type AF is competent for slow subjects. Hybrid CMOS AF in live view improved over pure contrast but remains slow versus Dual Pixel AF. 1080p 30fps video maximum.
Canon EF/EF-S mount with built-in flash, pentamirror viewfinder at 95% coverage, and articulating 3-inch touchscreen. Wi-Fi with NFC. Compact polycarbonate body. Single SD card slot.
Extremely common used. Check shutter count — rated 100,000 actuations. Test the touchscreen for dead spots. The 750D and 800D improved the AF. The EF-S lens ecosystem offers excellent used value despite no new development.
