Canon's entry DSLR with 24.2MP, Dual Pixel AF, and guided UI — the Rebel refined for beginners.
The Canon EOS 800D (Rebel T7i in North America) was released in 2017 as a mid-range APS-C DSLR, featuring a 24.2MP Dual Pixel CMOS sensor and 1080/60fps video. 6fps continuous shooting. LP-E17 battery. At approximately 532g with battery and card. No 4K video — the 800D's maximum is 1080p.
24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor (22.3×14.9mm) with Dual Pixel CMOS AF. 1080p at 60/50/30/25/24fps. No 4K. 6fps continuous shooting. LP-E17 battery. Approximately 532g with battery and card. Canon EF and EF-S lens compatibility.
The 800D's Dual Pixel CMOS AF is the headline feature for video: the dual-pixel phase detection on-sensor provides smooth, reliable continuous AF during 1080p recording. The LP-E17 battery is the compact cell shared with the EOS M3/M5/M6/760D/750D — modest capacity but lightweight. The 800D is the last Canon Rebel with APS-C and LP-E17 before the LP-E17 line was discontinued in favour of the M and R series.
On the used market the Canon EOS 800D is affordable as a mid-range APS-C DSLR. Condition checks: LP-E17 battery health, shutter count, Dual Pixel AF function in video. No 4K. Compatible with all Canon EF and EF-S lenses.
