The Canon RF 20mm f/1.4L VCM is a revolutionary ultra-wide prime featuring a rear filter holder designed specifically for astrophotography filters. The L designation indicates Canon's highest optical tier. The VCM (Voice Coil Motor) provides fast, precise AF. At 20mm f/1.4, it is one of the fastest ultra-wide primes Canon has ever produced.

Optical performance is outstanding — L-series quality with fluorite and UD elements. Sharpness is excellent from f/1.4. Coma is extremely well-controlled for astrophotography — the primary design focus. The rear filter slot accepts drop-in gelatine filters including light pollution and narrowband astrophotography filters. A lens designed from the ground up for night sky photography.

Canon RF mount, full-frame. Rear filter slot for drop-in filters — the front element is bulbous with no front filter thread. Weight is approximately 495 grams — impressively compact for the specification. Build quality is outstanding L-series with full weather sealing and fluorine coatings. VCM motor is fast, precise, and silent.
