The Canon RF 600mm f/11 IS STM was released in 2020 as an affordable fixed-aperture super-telephoto prime for Canon RF-mount. Fixed f/11 aperture with no aperture diaphragm — the aperture mechanism was omitted entirely to reduce cost and weight. Ten elements in 7 groups. No front filter thread (rear gel slot only). At 930g. 4.5m MFD. 5-stop IS.

The fixed f/11 aperture is the defining trade of the RF 600mm: Canon eliminated the diaphragm mechanism to reduce manufacturing cost and weight, making a 600mm full-frame prime accessible at a fraction of the cost of the f/4L IS USM. In bright light or with camera bodies at higher ISO, f/11 is workable for wildlife and sports. The 5-stop IS compensates for the slow aperture in lower light. The rear-only gel filter slot limits filter usage.
