Canon's original tilt-shift 24mm — the first TS-E ultra-wide for architecture and interiors.
The Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L launched in 1991 as Canon's first ultra-wide tilt-shift lens — providing 24mm with both tilt and shift for architectural and interior photography. It was the widest TS-E at launch.
Optically good — L-series quality with tilt providing Scheimpflug focus control and shift correcting converging verticals. The 24mm is ideal for interior and architectural work. Manual focus — standard for tilt-shift lenses.
Canon EF mount with 72mm filter thread. L-series construction. Manual focus. Shift ±11mm and tilt ±8°. The tilt and shift axes are not independently rotatable on this version — the Mark II (2009) added this crucial feature.
Available used at mid-range prices. The TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II dramatically improved with independent tilt/shift rotation and better optics. This Mark I is cheaper but limited by non-rotating axes. For budget Canon architectural photography.
