The Contax 167MT (1986) is an advanced C/Y-mount SLR from the Contax line, featuring a comprehensive exposure system (P/Av/Tv/M) and one of the highest shutter speeds (1/4000s) available in its class at launch. The '167' refers to the 1/2000s continuous sync speed for flash. It sits between the RTS II and the RTS III in the Contax professional lineup.

35mm SLR, C/Y mount, multi-mode AE (P/A/S/M), TTL metering, metal focal-plane shutter (8–1/4000s), built-in winder (2fps), LCD top-plate display, multiple metering modes.

The 167MT's built-in 2fps winder, 1/4000s top speed, and comprehensive exposure modes made it a capable professional SLR in 1986. All C/Y Zeiss T* and Yashica ML lenses are compatible. As a Contax body for Zeiss C/Y glass, the 167MT offers modern exposure controls without the premium of the RTS II or RTSIII.
