DJI introduced its DL-mount lens series alongside the Zenmuse X7 camera for the Inspire 2 drone platform, bringing a leaf-shutter cine prime range to aerial cinematography. The 35mm f/2.8 LS ASPH was one of the launch primes, built around the X7's Super 35 sensor and short flange distance.

The lens uses a built-in leaf shutter to remove rolling-shutter artifacts common with electronic shutters on moving platforms, paired with an aspherical element for corner-to-corner sharpness across the Super 35 image circle.
