DJI Osmo Pocket 3 — 1-inch sensor handheld gimbal camera with rotating touchscreen
DJI released the Osmo Pocket 3 in October 2023 as the third generation of its pocket-sized handheld gimbal camera line, following the original Osmo Pocket and Pocket 2. It targets vloggers and travel creators wanting stabilized video in a device far smaller than a camcorder or mirrorless rig.
The Pocket 3 combines a 1-inch CMOS sensor, capable of 4K video up to 120fps and 16-megapixel stills, with a fixed 20mm-equivalent f/2.0 lens on a three-axis mechanical gimbal. It has a 2-inch rotatable touchscreen for horizontal and vertical shooting, a 1300mAh battery rated at around 166 minutes, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless control.
The larger 1-inch sensor is the key upgrade over its Pocket 2 predecessor, giving noticeably better low-light performance and dynamic range, while the rotatable touchscreen and mechanical gimbal remain its defining features against phone stabilization or action cameras.
As a relatively recent product, used units on the resale market are generally still in good condition. Buyers should check the gimbal moves freely without grinding noise, confirm the touchscreen responds accurately, and test battery health and USB-C charging.
