Fujifilm FinePix JZ310 — slim digital compact, 16MP, 5x zoom, lithium battery, c.2011
The FinePix JZ310 is a slim digital compact from Fujifilm's JZ series, introduced in the early 2010s as a step up from the AA-battery J series with a longer zoom and a rechargeable lithium battery in a more pocketable shell. It targeted casual travel and family photography.
It carries a 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor in the 16-megapixel class behind a 5x optical zoom lens spanning roughly wide-angle to telephoto, framed on a 2.7-inch LCD screen. It records HD video, stores images on SD/SDHC/SDXC cards, and uses a proprietary rechargeable lithium-ion battery rather than AAs.
Compared with the earlier J-series cameras, the JZ310's longer zoom and slimmer, lithium-powered body suit it better to travel use where reach and pocketability matter more than universally available battery replacements. Automatic scene recognition handles most exposure decisions.
Used examples are widely available and affordable. Buyers should test that the proprietary battery still holds charge, confirm the zoom lens moves without grinding noises, check the LCD for scratches or dead pixels, and verify video recording and the SD card door function correctly.
