Fujifilm's ultra-affordable APS-C mirrorless with 24.2MP Bayer sensor and retro compact styling.
The Fujifilm X-A5 launched in 2018 as one of Fujifilm's most affordable X-mount mirrorless cameras. It uses a 24.2MP APS-C Bayer sensor rather than X-Trans, paired with a compact retro-styled body targeting beginners and casual shooters who want interchangeable-lens quality.
Image quality is decent for the price — the Bayer sensor produces good colour with Fujifilm's film simulation modes. Phase-detect AF added over the X-A3. 6fps burst. 4K 15fps video is essentially unusable but 1080p at 60fps is adequate for casual use.
Very compact body at 361g including battery. 3-inch 180-degree tilting touchscreen for selfies. Built-in flash. Bluetooth for always-on smartphone connection. WiFi for image transfer. Single SD card slot. No viewfinder — screen only.
Available used very cheaply — one of the most affordable routes into X-mount. The X-A7 improved with better video and larger LCD. The X-T100 adds an EVF for similar money. Good for beginners who want Fujifilm colour and access to the X-mount lens ecosystem.
