Fujifilm's ultra-compact X-mount body without a viewfinder, aimed at casual shooters.
The Fujifilm X-M1 was launched in 2013 as the most affordable and compact X-mount body. Stripping out the viewfinder in favour of a tilting rear screen, it targeted casual photographers and smartphone upgraders who valued compactness and Fujifilm's distinctive colour science.
Key features include the 16.3MP X-Trans CMOS sensor, tilting 3-inch LCD screen, built-in flash, and Wi-Fi. There is no viewfinder — all composition is done via the rear screen. AF is contrast-detect only and adequate but not fast. The body is very compact and lightweight.
The X-M1 was part of Fujifilm's strategy to offer different form factors in the X system. Without a viewfinder it was the most compact option. The X-A series later filled this role at an even lower price point.
Very cheap used. Check the tilting screen mechanism and AF accuracy. The 16MP sensor produces beautiful images with Fujifilm colour but resolution is limiting by modern standards. Only recommended if found very cheaply and you want the X-mount colour science in a tiny body.
