Fujifilm's budget retractable kit zoom with power zoom for the X-A and X-T100 series.
The Fujifilm XC 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ is Fujifilm's most compact kit zoom, launched in 2018. Using a motorised power zoom and retractable design, it collapses to a very thin profile when not in use. The XC designation places it in Fujifilm's consumer tier below the metal-barrelled XF line.
Optical quality is adequate for a budget kit lens with decent centre sharpness. OIS provides optical stabilisation. The power zoom mechanism enables smooth zooming for video but is slower than a manual zoom ring for stills. Build is lightweight plastic at just 135g.
Fujifilm X mount only, 52mm filter thread. The XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS is dramatically better in every way — faster aperture, better optics, metal build, manual zoom — but larger and heavier. The XC 15-45mm exists purely for compactness.
Very cheap used. Check the power zoom motor and OIS operation. The lens is adequate as a starter but the XF 18-55mm is worth the upgrade investment. The power zoom is useful for video; most stills shooters will prefer a manual zoom ring.
