Fujifilm's original XC kit zoom — budget 24-75mm equiv with OIS for X-mount entry-level cameras.
The Fujifilm XC 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS is the original budget kit zoom for Fujifilm X-mount, predating the Mark II. It covers 24-75mm equivalent with OIS stabilisation — the XC designation indicates Fujifilm's economy tier.
Optically adequate — acceptable centre sharpness for a kit zoom. OIS provides stabilisation. The XC build is simpler than XF lenses — plastic construction without an aperture ring. Power zoom retractable design on some variants.
Fujifilm X mount with 58mm filter thread. Approximately 195g — lightweight. No weather sealing. OIS stabilisation. Plastic construction including mount. No aperture ring. APS-C coverage.
Available used very cheaply — often free with camera bodies. The XC 16-50mm OIS II improved slightly. The XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS is dramatically better. Only use if obtained free. Check for smooth zoom mechanism.
