Fujifilm's premium ultra-wide zoom — the XF 10-24mm f/4 covering 15-36mm equivalent for landscape work.
The Fujifilm XF 10-24mm f/4 R OIS was released in 2013 as Fujifilm's premium ultra-wide zoom for the X-mount system. Covering a 15-36mm equivalent range with a constant f/4 aperture and OIS stabilisation, it provides the wide-angle coverage essential for landscape, architecture, and interior photography on Fujifilm X-series cameras.
Optical performance is very good. Sharpness is excellent in the centre and good in the corners when stopped down. The constant f/4 aperture provides consistent exposure. OIS stabilisation adds approximately 3.5 stops of correction — valuable for handheld shooting in low-light interiors. Distortion is well-controlled for the ultra-wide range.
Fujifilm X mount, APS-C. Filter thread is 72mm. Weight is approximately 410 grams — moderate. Build quality is good with an aperture ring typical of X-mount lenses. No weather resistance on the original version — the WR version released later adds weather sealing. The OIS stabilisation differentiates it from some competitors at this focal range.
Good availability on the used market. Check OIS operation and smooth zoom function. The WR version is preferred for outdoor use. An excellent ultra-wide for Fuji X shooters — the 15mm equivalent wide end is dramatic enough for most landscape and architecture work. The Fujifilm XF 8-16mm f/2.8 is the premium upgrade.
