GoPro's 2018 entry-level model — 1080p 60fps without stabilisation at the lowest GoPro price.
The GoPro Hero (2018) launched as GoPro's most affordable action camera, providing 1080p 60fps recording in the familiar GoPro form factor. It lacked the 4K and HyperSmooth of the Hero 7 Black but offered the GoPro experience at entry-level pricing.
Records 1080p 60fps and 1440p 60fps. 10MP stills. No 4K. No HyperSmooth stabilisation — basic video stabilisation only. Touch zoom. Voice control. Lower-cost variant using modified Hero 5 Black hardware with software limitations.
Waterproof to 10m without housing. 2-inch rear touchscreen. WiFi and Bluetooth. USB-C. GPS. Voice control. GoPro mount compatible. Firmware-limited — some features artificially restricted vs higher models.
Essentially free used. The artificially limited specifications were criticised — it was a Hero 5 Black with software restrictions. The Hero 7 Black is dramatically better. Only useful at the absolute lowest price for basic waterproof video needs.
