The 1988 Hasselblad 500ELX is the motor-drive V-system body that added the gliding mirror system and TTL flash to the EL/M formula.

Powered winding suits studio and tethered work, the enlarged mirror eliminates viewfinder cut-off with long lenses, and OTF flash metering brought the motorised line up to 503-series capability.

Its significance is as the last of the 500EL lineage before the 553ELX renamed it: NASA-derived reliability in a workhorse studio body that now trades modestly against its mechanical siblings.
