Earlier Hasselblad C-type Zeiss Sonnar 150mm, same legendary optics as CF at potentially lower pricing for 500-series.
The Hasselblad C Carl Zeiss Sonnar 150mm f/4 T* is an earlier version of the V-system portrait telephoto, predating the CF version with its Compur-type leaf shutter. The C designation indicates the original shutter type that is compatible only with 500-series bodies, not the later 200-series focal-plane shutter cameras.
The optical design is the same excellent Zeiss Sonnar that delivers sharp images with beautiful rendering at the 85mm equivalent portrait perspective. The leaf shutter provides flash sync at all speeds, and the T* coating ensures maximum contrast and colour accuracy.
Build quality is Hasselblad professional with quality construction. The C-type mounting limits compatibility to 500-series bodies (500C, 500C/M, 503CX, 503CW), but provides the same legendary Zeiss optical quality as the later CF version.
The C version of the Sonnar 150mm may be slightly more affordable than the CF version on the used market due to the limited body compatibility. The optical quality is identical, making it excellent value for photographers using 500-series bodies exclusively.
