Hasselblad's CF flat-field short tele — the T*-coated Zeiss Planar CF 100mm f/3.5 for the 6x6 V system.
The Carl Zeiss Planar CF 100mm f/3.5 is the CF-generation version of the flat-field short telephoto for the Hasselblad V system, with the Prontor CF leaf shutter, rubberised rings and T* multicoating. It continued the 100mm's reputation as one of the most highly corrected lenses in the line, sitting just longer than the 80mm standard and favoured for critical and technical use.
This is a manual-focus Hasselblad V lens with a built-in leaf shutter, the CF design giving separate aperture and shutter rings and an F setting for focal-plane-shutter bodies. Its maximum aperture is f/3.5 and it covers the 6x6 frame as a Planar with T* coating. The 100mm is repeatedly cited among V lenses for its flatness of field and even edge-to-edge performance, which the CF version carried forward with improved flare control.
The modest telephoto reach gives a flattering perspective for portraits and a useful working distance for landscape and architectural detail, while the flat-field correction suits copy, reproduction and product photography demanding even sharpness across the frame. The rendering keeps the Planar's low distortion and smooth transitions, making it a precise, slightly longer alternative to the 80mm for photographers who want maximum correction.
The CF 100mm is less common than the 80mm and commands a premium for its optical reputation. Confirm the CF leaf shutter runs cleanly at all speeds and that the C/F selector works, then check the glass for haze, fungus and separation and the T* coating for cleaning marks. Verify the focus helicoid and aperture ring are smooth and the blades dry; slow speeds at the low end indicate a shutter service is due.
