The Hoya 28mm f/2.8 HMC Wide-Auto is a wide-angle prime in Pentax K-mount with Hoya's premium multi-coating and automatic aperture coupling. The Wide-Auto designation indicates the lens provides automatic diaphragm operation, stopping down only at the moment of exposure for a bright viewfinder during composition.

This is essentially the same optical design as the standard Hoya HMC 28mm f/2.8 but with the automatic aperture mechanism that provides a more convenient shooting experience.
