Insta360's tiny magnetic action camera with pivot stand and improved image quality.
The Insta360 GO 3 was released in June 2023 as the third-generation GO action camera — a small camera designed to be worn, clipped, or mounted in positions inaccessible to standard action cameras. At 35.5g the camera unit alone is among the smallest action cameras available. The included Action Pod is a cradle accessory that adds a 2.2-inch flip-up touchscreen for remote preview and control, extends battery life from 45 minutes (camera alone) to 170 minutes total, and can charge the camera when docked. Maximum video resolution is 2.7K — not 4K, which is a distinction from the GO 3S (2024 successor).
The 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor records up to 2.7K (2720×1536) at 30fps; 1440p at higher frame rates; 1080p at up to 120fps for slow-motion. The camera unit alone is waterproof to 5m (IPX8) without housing; the Action Pod is splash-proof only (IPX4). Camera unit weight 35.5g; with Action Pod approximately 131g total. Single microSD card slot. The Action Pod adds a 640×320 touchscreen, microphone access, and battery.
The GO 3's use case is mounting in positions where a standard GoPro or Insta360 ACE cannot go: clipped to clothing, mounted on a helmet vent, attached to a bicycle frame, or held against a surface. The 35.5g weight makes it feasible to mount on moving subjects without altering balance. The Action Pod converts it into a handheld vlogging form factor with touchscreen framing. The 2.7K maximum resolution is adequate for standard content delivery but limits reframing headroom compared to 4K alternatives.
On the used market the GO 3 is available at action camera pricing, with the GO 3S (2024) providing 4K for buyers who need it. Condition checks: both camera unit and Action Pod condition, micro SD slot in the camera unit, waterproof sealing on the camera unit, and screen on the Action Pod for any scratches or dead pixels. The GO 3S (2024) replaced it with 4K recording. Fixed integrated lens; not interchangeable.
