Dual 1/2-inch CMOS, 48MP each. 8K/30fps (360 mode); 5.7K/60fps (360 mode); 4K/100fps (360 mode). Single-lens 4K/60fps. Natively waterproof to 10m (50m with Dive Case). 2290mAh battery (~135 min at 5.7K/30fps — improved over X3's 1800mAh). 203g. Fixed dual fisheye lenses; no interchangeable mount.
The X4's 8K 360° video is the key advancement over the X3 (5.7K max 360°): the 8K capture provides more resolution headroom for reframing in post without visible pixelation at output resolutions. The 4K/100fps mode enables 4x slow-motion at 25fps for 360° action footage. The improved 2290mAh battery (+490mAh over X3) extends recording time for longer events.
On the used market the Insta360 X4 is available at current 360-camera pricing. Condition checks: dual lens elements (both fisheye surfaces) for scratches, battery health (2290mAh rated capacity), waterproof seals. Fixed dual fisheye; no interchangeable mount.
