Laowa's full-frame 12mm rectilinear with zero distortion — f/2.8 with filter thread at extreme wide.
The Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D is an ultra-wide rectilinear prime for full-frame with near-zero distortion. At 12mm on full-frame it provides 121.96° field of view — wider than most rectilinear lenses with virtually no barrel distortion.
Optically impressive — near-zero distortion at 12mm is remarkable. Sharp from f/5.6. The f/2.8 aperture is moderate but the near-zero distortion is the standout feature. Manual focus only. No electronic contacts on most versions.
Available for multiple mounts including Canon EF, Nikon F, and Sony FE. 77mm filter thread — accepts standard screw-on filters at 12mm. Approximately 610g. Manual focus. No electronic contacts. Minimum focus distance 18cm.
Available used at mid-range prices. The 77mm filter thread at 12mm full-frame is extraordinary — standard ND and polariser filters work. The zero distortion is genuine and invaluable for architecture. For architectural photographers wanting rectilinear 12mm with standard filters.
