Laowa's fast MFT ultra-wide — the 7.5mm f/2 covering 15mm equivalent at fast speed.
The Laowa C-Dreamer 7.5mm f/2 is a fast ultra-wide manual-focus prime from Venus Optics (Laowa) for Micro Four Thirds cameras, providing a 15mm full-frame equivalent field of view at a very fast f/2 maximum aperture. It is one of the fastest ultra-wide lenses available for the MFT system.
The lens delivers 7.5mm (15mm equivalent on MFT) at f/2 maximum aperture with fully manual focus and aperture, a compact lightweight design, MFT electronic contacts for EXIF data, and an MFT-format image circle.
The f/2 maximum aperture at 7.5mm is significantly faster than most MFT ultra-wides, providing excellent astrophotography capability and low-light wide-angle shooting on bodies like the OM-D E-M5 and Panasonic GH series. The compact size maintains the portability advantage of the MFT system.
Check focus ring for smooth operation. Inspect front element for coating integrity — the wide element is vulnerable. Verify MFT electronic contacts for EXIF. Test corner sharpness at f/2 on an MFT sensor.
