Leica's premium APO-corrected 35mm f/2 for L-Mount — reference-grade optics with apochromatic correction.

The Leica APO-Summicron-SL 35mm f/2 ASPH was released in 2019 as part of Leica's original APO-Summicron SL prime trio for L-mount, providing apochromatic (APO) chromatic aberration correction across all three primary wavelengths. Thirteen elements in 11 groups with five aspherical surfaces. At 750g and 67mm filter thread. 0.27m MFD. Nine rounded aperture blades. Compatible with all L-mount bodies.

The APO designation on the SL 35mm indicates full apochromatic correction — lateral chromatic aberration is corrected across the three primary wavelengths, not just at specific wavelengths like non-APO designs. This reduces colour fringing on high-contrast edges that is visible in non-APO fast primes at wide aperture. The 0.27m MFD enables close environmental 35mm compositions that standard 35mm primes at 0.30m+ cannot reach.
