Leica's premium compact in silver — the D-Lux 7 with Leica colour and Summilux zoom.
The Leica D-Lux 7 in Silver finish is a premium fixed-lens compact from Leica, co-developed with Panasonic on the LX100 II platform. The Silver edition is an aesthetic variant of the standard black D-Lux 7, carrying Leica's cosmetic identity.
The D-Lux 7 uses a Four Thirds (not Micro Four Thirds) sensor at 17-megapixels with a Leica DC Vario-Summilux 24-75mm equivalent f/1.7-2.8 zoom lens, 4K video, an EVF, touchscreen LCD, RAW capture, and WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity.
The Leica D-Lux 7 is functionally equivalent to the Panasonic LX100 II, sharing the sensor, lens, and electronic systems. The Leica branding commands a significant price premium and provides access to Leica's firmware tuning and customer service. The Four Thirds sensor is larger than the 1-inch sensors in competing premium compacts.
Test the fixed Summilux zoom for smooth operation and verify RAW capture. Check the EVF display quality. Verify WiFi and Bluetooth pairing. Test 4K video recording. The Silver finish should be inspected for paint condition.
