Leica's earlier R-mount 24mm — 3-cam version without ROM contacts.
The Leica Elmarit-R 24mm f/2.8 in 3-Cam configuration is the earlier mechanical version of the R-mount 24mm wide prime — the 3-cam coupling provides compatibility with all R-mount bodies from the original Leicaflex SL onwards.
Same optical formula as the ROM version — Leica Elmarit quality at 24mm f/2.8. The 3-cam mechanical coupling system predates the ROM electronic contacts but provides metering compatibility across the full range of R-mount camera bodies.
Leica R mount with 3-cam mechanical coupling and 55mm filter thread at approximately 370g. Same optics as the ROM version in earlier mechanical housing. Adapts to mirrorless cameras via R-mount adapters for quality manual-focus wide-angle work.
Available used at mid-range prices — typically slightly cheaper than the ROM version since it lacks electronic contacts. The 3-cam is preferred for early R bodies while the ROM suits late-model R cameras. For Leica R collectors and mirrorless adapter enthusiasts.
