The Leica M10-P was released in August 2018 as the discreet variant of the M10 rangefinder, dropping the red dot logo and introducing the quietest shutter of any M body to that date. It sat above the standard M10 in the range and became a favourite of street and documentary photographers.
The M10-P uses the same 24MP full-frame CMOS sensor and Maestro II processor as the M10, ISO 100-50000, with a 0.73x optical rangefinder, 3in 1,036k-dot touchscreen (the first M with touch), integrated level gauge, and the near-silent mechanical shutter to 1/4000s. Body weight is 660g with battery.
Against the standard M10 the P adds the quieter shutter, touchscreen and level while removing front branding for discretion; against the M10-R it trades resolution for lower cost. It suits photographers who value the quietest possible mechanical M experience over pixel count.
On the used market the M10-P holds value strongly in both black chrome and silver chrome. Check sensor for corrosion history via service records, verify rangefinder alignment at multiple distances, confirm the shutter fires at all speeds, and inspect the baseplate and lugs for brassing that affects price more than function.
