The Leica S (Typ 006) is a professional medium format DSLR-style camera from Leica, released approximately 2012. The CCD sensor provides smooth tonal gradation and vivid colour saturation characteristic of CCD rendering. Leaf shutter capability enables flash sync at all shutter speeds, a significant advantage for location portrait work with fill flash.
