Mamiya's professional medium format workhorse — the RZ67 Pro II for studio and location work.
The Mamiya RZ67 Professional II is the second generation of Mamiya's legendary 6x7 medium format camera system, released in 1993. The RZ system features a revolving back, bellows focusing, and interchangeable film backs and viewfinders. It was the studio camera of choice for fashion, portrait, and product photographers throughout the 1990s and 2000s.
The RZ67 Pro II improved on the original with enhanced electronics, multiple exposure capability, and improved metering. The revolving back allows switching between landscape and portrait orientation without rotating the heavy camera. Bellows focusing enables macro capability with any lens. All lenses feature integrated leaf shutters for flash sync at all shutter speeds.
Mamiya RZ mount with electronic leaf shutter control. Uses 120 and 220 roll film in interchangeable film backs. Weight is approximately 2,500 grams body only — very heavy. Build quality is outstanding professional grade. The modular system accepts different viewfinders, focusing screens, film backs, and the comprehensive Sekor Z lens range.
Available on the used market at moderate prices — significant savings from new-era pricing. Check electronic shutter timing, bellows light tightness, and film back light seals. The complete system is heavy but produces extraordinary 6x7 negatives. An outstanding studio camera that remains unmatched for the quality of its leaf-shutter lens system and modular design.
