Compact 35mm film camera with a fixed lens.
The Minolta 35 ML is a 35mm rangefinder camera from Minolta's Minolta 35 series (1947–1960s), one of the later models in Minolta's compact interchangeable-lens rangefinder line. The ML designation indicates a specific variant in the series; all Minolta 35 models from the Model II onward use Leica Thread Mount (L39/M39) for lens interchangeability.
35mm film rangefinder, Leica Thread Mount (L39/M39), coupled rangefinder, manual exposure, focal plane shutter. Minolta 35-series construction with Rokkor lens compatibility.
The Minolta 35 series cameras accept Chiyoko/Minolta Rokkor lenses in L39 thread — as well as Leica, Voigtlander, and other LTM lenses, though optical and mechanical compatibility varies between manufacturers' L39 interpretations. The Minolta 35 ML is a collector piece for rangefinder enthusiasts; the 35 series represents Japan's serious engagement with the Leica-derived rangefinder form in the 1950s–60s.
Test the coupled rangefinder for accuracy at several distances. Check shutter at all speeds including slow speeds (prone to drying lubricant). Inspect viewfinder for haze. Test LTM lens coupling engagement. Check light seals — standard failure point on all 1950s–60s cameras.
