Minolta's enlarging lens — the C.E. Rokkor 50mm for quality 35mm darkroom printing.
Minolta produced the C.E. Rokkor lens series for their dedicated colour enlargers, with CE standing for Colour Enlarger. These multi-coated lenses were designed for neutral colour rendition in colour printing and were bundled with Minolta enlarger systems from the 1970s into the 1990s.
50mm focal length, f/2.8 maximum aperture, multi-layer anti-reflection coated, Minolta proprietary enlarger thread mount, designed for 35mm negatives.
The C.E. Rokkor performs comparably to mid-tier offerings from Rodenstock and Schneider for standard 35mm darkroom work. Its Minolta-proprietary thread mount limits direct compatibility with universal enlarger lensboards; adapters or modifications may be required. Optimal sharpness at f/5.6–f/8.
Confirm the thread specification matches your enlarger lensboard before purchase. Inspect optics for haze, fungus, and coating condition. Aperture blades should be clean and operation smooth.
