Miranda's shutter-priority auto SLR — the Auto Sensorex EE, Miranda mount, 1971.
The Miranda Auto Sensorex EE was a 35mm film SLR made from 1971 and was Miranda's automatic-exposure development of the Sensorex. It used the Miranda mount and added shutter-priority automatic exposure, making it one of the more advanced bodies in Miranda's range before the company closed in the mid-1970s.
It is a single-lens-reflex camera for 35mm film on the Miranda mount. The Auto Sensorex EE offered shutter-priority automatic exposure alongside manual, with TTL metering and a focal-plane shutter. The automatic mode relies on battery power to set the aperture, so the meter and auto exposure depend on a working cell.
It suits users who want automation in a less common SLR system and like the interchangeable-finder design carried over from the Sensorex. It handles like a substantial late-Miranda body, with the convenience of shutter-priority auto for quicker shooting.
On the used market it is uncommon and Miranda-mount lenses are scarce. Check the foam seals and mirror-damper foam, confirm the shutter fires and the automatic exposure responds correctly, and test the meter, which was built for mercury cells. Inspect the prism for desilvering, check advance and rewind, and note that the automation makes it more battery-dependent while parts and repair support are very limited.
