Nikon's original AF 60mm micro — pre-D version with true 1:1 macro and CRC close-range correction.
The Nikon AF Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8 is the original autofocus version of Nikon's 60mm macro, predating the D and later AF-S versions. It provides true 1:1 macro magnification with CRC (Close Range Correction) for optimised close-focus performance.
Optically excellent at macro distances — the same proven 60mm macro formula. CRC system adjusts optical elements at close focus for improved performance. Body-driven screw AF. The non-D version lacks distance communication — less precise flash metering.
Nikon F mount with 62mm filter thread. Approximately 440g. No VR. Full-frame coverage. Body-driven AF. CRC close-range correction. Minimum focus distance approximately 22cm at 1:1. No distance communication chip.
Available used very cheaply. The D version added distance communication, the AF-S added built-in motor. This earliest AF version is the cheapest but requires body AF motor and lacks D-chip. For budget macro on AF-motor-equipped Nikon bodies.
