Improved Nikon DX 55-200mm VR II with ED glass, better stabilisation at budget telephoto pricing.
The Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G II ED VR is the updated version of the popular DX telephoto zoom with improved VR II stabilisation and slightly refined optics. The 55-200mm covers 82.5-300mm equivalent with effective VR for handheld telephoto shooting.
The VR II provides improved stabilisation over the original version, and the ED glass element controls chromatic aberration at longer focal lengths. The AF-S motor ensures autofocus on all Nikon DX bodies, and the lightweight design balances well on compact DX cameras.
Build quality is lightweight Nikon DX with the improvements of the Mark II revision. The collapsible design may be present on some variants, and the overall handling is improved over the first generation.
The AF-S DX 55-200mm VR II offers improved stabilised telephoto at affordable used pricing. The VR II and ED glass provide genuine upgrades over the original version at similar cost levels.
