The FE introduced in 1978 offers aperture-priority automatic exposure alongside full manual control, with a mechanical shutter backup at 1/90s.

The Nikon FE features one of the most elegant viewfinder displays of any manual focus SLR, with a match-needle meter that provides intuitive exposure guidance. The titanium foil shutter curtain is durable and accurate, and the compact body feels perfectly proportioned with the lightweight Series E lens creating an exceptionally balanced kit.
