Nikon's tilt-shift 45mm for product and architecture — perspective correction and DOF control at standard FL.
The Nikon PC-E Micro Nikkor 45mm f/2.8D ED launched in 2008 as a unique tilt-shift lens with macro capability at the standard 45mm focal length. It provides both perspective correction and Scheimpflug tilt for depth-of-field control — useful for product photography.
Optically excellent — sharp across the frame with ED glass controlling chromatic aberration. Shift movement ±11.5mm and tilt ±8.5° with independent 90-degree rotation. The E-type diaphragm ensures precise exposure. 1:2 reproduction ratio at close focus.
Nikon F mount with 77mm filter thread. Approximately 740g. Manual focus only — necessary for tilt-shift operation. Full-frame coverage with extra image circle for shift. D-type distance communication. Minimum focus distance 25.3cm.
Available used at professional prices. The 45mm focal length is unusual for tilt-shift — most are 24mm or longer. Useful for product and food photography where the tilt enables focus across a flat surface. Check tilt and shift mechanisms for smooth operation. A specialist but powerful tool.
