The Nikon SP is Nikon's professional 35mm rangefinder camera, produced approximately 1957-1960. The SP was the top of Nikon's rangefinder lineup — Nikon's direct competitor to the Leica M3 in the late 1950s professional market. Uses the Nikon S bayonet (Contax/Nikon) mount. Nikon S mount.

The SP's viewfinder provided frameline coverage for 28mm through 135mm lenses — the widest coverage of any rangefinder camera of its era. Nikon S-mount lenses are NOT compatible with Nikon F-mount cameras. S-mount lenses can be adapted to modern mirrorless cameras via specialty adapters.
