Olympus's entry 35mm film bridge ZLR — a fixed 28-110mm zoom, the amateur iS line's start.
The Olympus iS-100 is a 35mm film bridge camera (ZLR) introduced in 1994 as the entry point of Olympus's simpler, amateur iS line — iS-100, iS-100s, iS-200 and iS-300 — sitting below the advanced iS-1000/2000/3000. It was marketed as the iS-10 in the US, with a fixed power zoom in an SLR-style body.
It is a fully automatic 35mm film SLR with a built-in 28-110mm zoom covering wide-angle to short telephoto. It provides program autoexposure, autofocus, a built-in flash and motorised film advance, with a simpler control set than the advanced iS models. The zoom is fixed, so there is no interchangeable mount.
The iS-100 trades the advanced line's manual exposure input and longer reach for a lighter, fully automatic experience with SLR-style handling and a usefully wide 28mm starting focal length. It suits casual travel and family photography on film.
It is a common, low-cost 1990s bridge camera used. Condition checks: power-zoom operation, autofocus, flash, film transport and the foam light seals, which commonly degrade. The later iS-200 and iS-300 add refinements; the iS-1000 adds exposure control.
