Olympus's mid-'90s 35mm film bridge ZLR — a 28-110mm zoom, a running update to the amateur iS-100.
The Olympus iS-100s is a 35mm film bridge camera (ZLR) from 1996, a running update to the 1994 iS-100 within Olympus's amateur iS line. It keeps the fixed power-zoom lens and SLR-style body of the series and operates fully automatically.
It is a 35mm autofocus film SLR with a built-in 28-110mm zoom. It offers program autoexposure, autofocus, a built-in flash and motorised film transport, with small refinements over the iS-100. The lens is fixed, so there is no interchangeable mount.
As a mid-cycle revision, the iS-100s carries near-identical handling and the same 28-110mm range as the iS-100, differing mainly in its later revision status and minor tweaks. It suits casual film shooters wanting simple SLR-style operation.
It is an uncommon variant on the used market; condition checks mirror the iS-100 — zoom motor travel, autofocus, flash, film transport and perished light seals. Where the 100s is scarce, the iS-100 or iS-200 are close substitutes.
