Olympus's extended bridge camera — the IS-3000 with longer zoom range for film photography.
The Olympus IS-3000 is a film bridge camera from 1992 with an integrated 35-180mm zoom — extending the range of the IS-1000. The longer telephoto end provided more reach for casual travel and event photography. Like the IS-1000, it combined SLR-style viewing with a non-interchangeable zoom in a consumer-friendly package.
Image quality is film-dependent. The 35-180mm integrated zoom provided more reach than the IS-1000. AF and exposure are automatic. The bridge form factor was popular in the early 1990s as a step between point-and-shoots and SLRs. The longer zoom range was the primary selling point over the IS-1000.
Non-interchangeable 35-180mm zoom. Film camera using 35mm film. Battery-powered AF and film advance. The IS bridge camera series represented Olympus's consumer zoom camera range in the 1990s. The non-interchangeable lens simplified operation but limited upgrade potential.
Very cheap vintage item. Check film transport and zoom. No practical value. Only for collectors. The bridge camera concept evolved into digital super-zoom cameras.
