Olympus's pinhole-style body cap lens — 30mm equiv at fixed f/8 for creative lo-fi photography.
The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 15mm f/8 (BCL-1580) is a body-cap lens for Micro Four Thirds — a 30mm full-frame equivalent prime designed to replace the body cap while providing basic photography capability. Three elements in 3 groups. Fixed f/8 aperture (non-adjustable). No autofocus — manual lever focus with three click-stop positions: 30cm (close), hyperfocal, infinity. At approximately 22g.
Three elements in 3 groups. Fixed f/8 aperture — no adjustment. Manual lever focus: three click positions (0.30m, hyperfocal, infinity). No AF. Approximately 22g. Doubles as a body cap when fitted. 30mm full-frame equivalent on MFT. Micro Four Thirds mount.
The BCL-1580 is the pocketable companion to MFT bodies: at 22g and body-cap depth, the lens adds negligible weight and volume while providing usable photography capability for casual carry situations. The fixed f/8 aperture and three-position lever focus cover the hyperfocal distance range where everything from approximately 1.5m to infinity appears adequately sharp at 30mm f/8 on the small MFT sensor.
On the used market the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 15mm f/8 is very affordable as a novelty body-cap lens. Condition checks: lever focus mechanism, lens element for marks. Fixed f/8 aperture. No AF. Usable for casual photography at hyperfocal distances. Compatible with all Micro Four Thirds bodies.
